Family sessions, as wonderful as they are, are, in my opinion, one of the more difficult areas of photography. For models? Absolutely not, mostly for the photographer!

Why do I think so? Making sure 2 people in a photo have open eyes and cool facial expressions is difficult, not to mention with more! :D
Children are very expressive, open, real, there is no room for fake poses and any "smile for the camera" can end up with them crying, stomping their feet and screaming at all humanity. That's not what I want as a photographer.
With a family session, I focus on naturalness, warmth, smiles, goofing off, hugging. The session is supposed to be a reminder to you of all the family values, it is supposed to be a break from all the bad stuff and focus on what is most important - love!
Attitude
On the day of the session, attitude is very important. Let's not treat the photo session as a necessity. Sad, angry faces or even forced smiles will be very noticeable and take away all the magic. Let's not make them pose - instead, have fun, toss them around, tickle them. Everything should look like I wasn't there at all.
Of course we'll sometimes want to replicate a pose from Pinterest inspirations, but let it be just a few shots. The rest should be natural.
I'm just a cool aunt who came over and took a few photos by the wayside :)
Family photoshoot - outfit
I once found a very good graphic about the color scheme depending on the season. I have been using it ever since and it always works! We definitely avoid black clothes, I don't care they slim down, photoshop can do it also :D

In addition to colors, it's important that everyone feels comfortable - avoid tight shirts and slimming, too-small jeans. Especially children need to feel free - they can get upset by even the smallest tag :)
What does the family photoshoot look like?
It all depends on whether the session is done at home or outdoors.
1. Home session
The session takes place in the space of your choice. Most often it is a living room or bedroom. Much depends on the light in the room. For the most part, I use natural light and a small softbox with continuous light to make sure the photos come out as sharp as possible.
An orderly and tidy space is important. You don't have to hide everything in cabinets, after all, it's YOUR home and YOU need to feel comfortable.
When doing a session at home, I always ask for a few photos of the space you have chosen so that I can prepare the right frames in advance and familiarize myself with the light.
What does it look like during the session? Very simple! You do all the activities as if I were not there (well... almost all of them :)) You draw, read books, pick up children, play with them, give each other kisses. And that's it. Oh, maybe one more thing. Avoid looking into the lens, seriously! 2. Outdoors session This is definitely a more difficult session. Here, there is not much room for a large number of toys and performing daily activities.
Here you have to focus on each other, on playing together, joking around, chasing each other. Sometimes we will be inspired by "ready-made poses", but not always.
We will have to get the children interested in their surroundings. Maybe there are some beautiful flowers growing there? Maybe a plane just flew over the sky?
It's a good idea to take with you some book, one favorite toy and.... soap bubbles! Not only children love them and they look amazing on photos! :)
And the most important thing - I am just a cool aut with camera, right?

How long does a family photoshoot last?
It all depends on the number of locations, the atmosphere and the personalities of the family members. It usually takes one to two hours, but if you need more time to relax - no problem.
Family photoshoot prices
It all depends on what package you choose and what location it will be done.
In my packages it's mainly about time, if you choose the cheapest package - the session will last a maximum of 1.5h and after that, depending on whether I have time in my schedule, each additional hour costs 70 euros.
Each package guarantees a MINIMUM number of photos. You don't have to buy more afterwards, as many as you get out of them, that's how many you will get in the final gallery!:)
Are you interested? I look forward to hearing from you!
